International Student School Experience

Because we understand curriculum as an expansive enterprise, we believe students must have the chance to experience the wider world beyond the classroom. Over the years, our Country Day Abroad program has established relationships with partner schools throughout the world including St. Jean de Passy in Paris, France, Cedar House in Cape Town, South Africa, Colegios Peterson in Mexico City, and Enforex in Salamanca, Spain.

Metairie Park Country Day is pleased to accept applications from international students at all grade levels, from elementary, middle, and high school. We welcome families and students from across the globe to be embraced by our warm community and to graduate from Country Day fully prepared for success in an American university or anywhere their lives will take them.

Presently we have students on our campus from Nigeria, China, Vietnam, Spain and Norway to name a few.

Requirements for admission include (may vary by grade level):

  • Completion of our school's online application
  • Completion of our school's Record Release Form which will allow us to contact each applicant's school for records
  • Report cards and/or transcripts
  • Standardized test scores
  • Completion of the school's teacher recommendation forms
  • Required testing which varies by grade level for applicants to Pre-K through Grade 12.
  • Completion of school’s writing sample and virtual interview for applicants to Grades 6 -12

Applicant families must provide the School with the email address of an English-speaking school administrator to facilitate the records collection process of the applicant at his/her international school.

English proficiency is required of all international student applicants seeking admission into Grades 6-12.

Cambridge Network

Metairie Park Country Day School has a partnership with The Cambridge Network in Boston. Applicants from China need to contact the Cambridge Network directly at admissions@thecambridgenetwork.com to complete The Cambridge Network's application, which can be used to apply to a variety of American schools. Current academic reports, teacher recommendations, and Skype interviews are all part of the application process.

Although ESL services are provided to our Chinese-speaking (Cambridge Network) students, the School can recommend private tutors to be hired by international families to assist students with the English language.

Student Exchange and Visitor Program

Country Day is recognized by the Student Exchange and Visitor Program (SEVP) as a SEVIS approved school with the ability to issue I-20 forms. An I-20 form from Country Day will allow prospective international students to obtain a United States F-1 Student Visa.

Cambridge Network Opportunities

We are pleased that the majority of Country Day's international students come to live in New Orleans as a family unit. For Chinese students who wish to enroll at Country Day without the accompaniment of a family member, arrangements can be made through The Cambridge Network. Other international students not affiliated with The Cambridge Network may inquire about homestay opportunities here.
